Delta Breeze

The Delta Breeze is the local name for a wind coming from the southwest, off of The Delta of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. It carries with it cooler, more humid air from the Pacific Ocean. The effects of this wind are very noticable during the summer, as this sea breeze can cool the air by more than 10 degrees F. This can turn an unbearable summer day into a comfortable evening. And you can turn off the air conditioning. The delta breeze is also why we carry sweaters to baseball games that start when it is 100+.

Tonight I'm going to see Shakespeare's King Lear, not exactly a light evening but I do like the play.
